There will be three Outdoor Science classes at San Pedro Park.

Tuesday, April 10, 2007 - All about Earthworms
10:30 am-12:00 noon.
$10.00 per child
Students will learn the tools involved in dissection. Students will study the external and internal anatomy of the earthworm through coloring sheets. Each student will get their own worm to dissect. Students wil observe live earthworm behavior. All utensils and equipment is provided.
We will celebrate freeing the worms with gummy worm treat afterwards.

These daily assignments direct you to click on a link that takes you to a webpage where your read and do an assignment. They last on the average from 15-30 minutes to complete. Tuesday, April 17, 2007 - All about Crayfish
Students will study the external and internal anatomy of the crayfish through coloring sheets. Observe crayfish behavior in their natural environment. San Pedro Park provides a scenic spring fed stream for the crayfish to live. Plus, each student will get their own preserved crayfish to dissect. All utensils and equipment is provided.
10:30 a.m.-12:00 noon.

Tuesday, April 24, 2007 - All about Frogs
Students will study the external and internal anatomy of the frog through coloring sheets. Each student will get their own frog to dissect. All utensils and equipment is provided. Afterwards, we will go on a tadpole huntin the scenic spring fed streams at San Pedro Park; we might get lucky!

$12 per child

per family. These daily assignments direct you to click on a link that takes you to a webpage where your read and do an assignment. Students will learn the frog life cycle, the internal and external parts of the frog online!
They last on the average from 15-30 minutes to complete. Students who complete the tasks and bring on the day of the class will receive a certificate of completion.
**Please note that siblings and parents are NOT allowed in the teaching area. There are other areas of the park you may walk around at withing viewing distance. I have found it best to not have parents or younger children around the teaching area because it tends to distract the child that is taking the class.
***Please note that you do not need to do the modules. These are just to enhance the learning experience prior to coming to the class.
****Please note that classes will be limited to 10 students. Enroll TODAY! Alternate Rain Days will be scheduled on a Tuesday. If there are not a minimum of eight students, Mrs. Valdez will cancel the class.
